Week Seven, “What it Means to be a Citizen”

As a part of our community engagement unit for the “What it Means to be a Citizen” course, the students visited the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. The students learned about the different animals up for adoption, as well as how they and others can volunteer their time to help the shelter find homes for the many animals.

Now they are going to work on developing flyers to pass out around the community, as well as “Public Service Announcement” style commercials that can be shared to promote the great work of the LCAS.

On Thursday, the class will be visiting the County Clerk’s office to hear from our clerk, Gary Clemens.
