The Hub is a great resource for student-members to experience IndED’s project-based learning model, while exploring the world of the Arts, Citizenship, Leadership, and Science/Technology.
An extension of the IndED academic programs, the Hub provides additional educational enrichment through afternoon (2:30-4 p.m.), for homeschoolers, as well as After-School (4-7:00 p.m.) programs in the Arts, Citizenship, and Science/Technology, plus Leadership Clubs which meet at least monthly. Here in our Downtown Leesburg center, students work in a creative space which provides the tools for creating, building, inventing and exploring in the areas of citizenship, leadership, entrepreneurship, arts and science/technology. Specialist mentors lead students in topics, and students also have opportunities to interact with their community through speakers, local trips and real-world projects.
Currently, students are encouraged to sign up for our “Yoga and the Arts in Town” program every Wednesday from 4pm to 5:30pm. IndED is also launching “Homework Happy Hour” our monthly Open House where the students can join one of our Leadership Clubs. The first Homework Happy Hour is scheduled for October 26 at 5:30pm.
The Hub will begin hosting Community Conversations with our partnership with Loudoun Youth and the DCubed program. The first event is scheduled for November 9th.
We are currently serving students ages 8 to 15 (approx. grades 3-9) for most of our programs.
Our After School Programs run from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Hub in Downtown Leesburg. The Hub Membership allows student to access to any of our Clubs or Workshops (for kids and parents). Our After School Programs currently feature activities and workshops on:
