American Founding and the Constitution

“The American Founding and the Constitution” is Part One of a two-part course on citizenship, government, community service, and communication skills. This 10 week course includes gaining a deeper understanding of the foundation of The United States of America, State government, including Virginia History, exploring economics and citizenship with real-life experiences in creating your own government, and developing communication skills through creating a formal presentation to be shared at the conclusion of the course.
*The course will also feature two field trips, to the State Capitol in Richmond, and to the National Archives in D.C.
Age Range: 8-12 (approx. 3rd to 6th grade)
Schedule: Classes will meet every Tuesday from 1pm to 2:30pm. Beginning Jan 3, and ending Mar 7.
Cost: $200
Supplies: All supplies will be provided as part of the course, but there will be a nominal fee for the field trips… TBD.
Where: IndED Headquarters in Downtown Leesburg, VA
