Signing up for today’s lab will include BOTH workshops listed below. Each workshop runs about 45 minutes, with a 15 minute break in-between each class, for a total of about 2 hours. You can choose from two different 2-hour blocks: 1pm to 3pm OR 4pm to 6pm. All members are welcome to attend the Open Lab time from 3pm to 4pm, where students can collaborate, receive individual leadership mentoring, and utilize our lab resources.
Communication Skills- Telling a Visual Story (Leadership 101)
This workshop will explore the power of the written and visual communication and how to best use this to share thoughts and ideas. There will be a different attribute of written and/or visual communication each time this workshop is offered.
The Importance of Service (Leadership in the Community)
This workshop will provide an opportunity to explore and discuss the various needs of the residents within the community and how the students can plan, organize, and implement a service project. Skills such as assessment of needs, communication, delegation of duties, and follow through are highlighted.
